PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester artificial hair having excellent spinning stability, keeping fiber properties such as heat-resistance, strength and elongation of conventional polyester fibers, and having excellent setting property, touch and combing smoothness and high flame retardance. SOLUTION: The flame-retardant polyester artificial hair having excellent spinning stability, keeping fiber properties such as heat-resistance, strength and elongation of conventional polyester fibers, and having excellent setting property, touch and combing smoothness can be produced while suppressing the gelling in spinning operation by the melt-spinning of a composition containing a polyester and a bromine-containing flame-retardant, an antimony compound and a heat-stabilizer at specific ratios.
