A system for safety when a user gets to and off a taxi and a method thereof are provided to automatically confirm identities of a driver and a passenger who gets to the taxi as a commercial vehicle and immediately confirm the safety of the driver and passenger. A system for safety when a user gets to and off a taxi comprises the followings: a mobile communication terminal(200) of a passenger who gets to a vehicle; a mobile communication terminal(210) of a driver of the vehicle; a main server(100); and a network(150) for connecting the mobile communication terminals(200,210) of the passenger and driver with the main server(100) by cable and radio. The main server(100) has information about the vehicle, extracts a caller phone number of the mobile communication terminal(200) of the passenger, and receives ride information of the passenger. If it is estimated time of arrival, the main server(100) attempts call connection to the mobile communication terminals(200,210) of the driver and passenger in order to confirm whether the driver and the passenger are safe.
