The system (114) is for locking a workpiece to a carrier, and especially a vehicle bodywork part to a skid frame or an overhead conveyor. It has a holder (118) with a locking bolt (128), which can be rotated between an open and a closed position. In the closed position, a lock (192) clamps the workpiece. When the locking bolt is rotated into the closed position it slides along its rotary axis (134) in relation to the holder.
