<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensitive composition for an optical element that is stable in optical characteristics without the drop of the performance of the phase difference regulating functional layer even to the heating upon manufacturing a color filter used for an image display device such as a liquid crystal display and without the generation of cracks even in the ITO sputtering in the electrode fitting process, and to provide the optical element using it and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The photosensitive composition contains at least a polymerizable liquid-crystalline material, a photopolymerization initiator, a crosslinking agent and a solvent, wherein the crosslinking agent consists of a compound having two or more alkylol groups.
