<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an error diffusion circuit which can reduce a sense of noise and does not fix dots of an error diffusion output, and to provide an image display device using the same. <P>SOLUTION: Output image signals of an input memory 101 are reversed to a forward direction and a backward direction in the unit of horizontal scan period. An error value memory 105 is reversed to a forward direction and a backward direction synchronously with the scanning direction of the input memory 101. An appearing pattern having the sense of noise reduced is obtained by error computations of interlace scanning.
