PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for blowing gas into a pre-chamber of a dry type coke-extinguishing device for cooling red hot coke produced in a coke oven with an inert gas, and a method for operating the same. SOLUTION: This device for blowing gas of the dry type coke-extinguishing facility is characterized by installing a multiple number of measuring devices 10 of temperature in the oven and air-blowing nozzles 17 in circumferential direction of the pre-chamber of the dry type coke-extinguishing device, also installing branched tubes 9 by branching a part of circulation gas for cooling the red hot coke in the pre-chamber, joining the tip ends of the branched tube with the air-blowing nozzles and also installing a blow-controlling device 12 for controlling the amounts of the blowing air and circulation gas into the oven.
