摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively compensate a threshold voltage of a driver element for controlling a current which flows to a light emitting element. <P>SOLUTION: A pixel selection switching element 11, a current control driver element 12, a static capacitor 13 and a current light emitting element 14 such as an organic electroluminescence (EL) device are provided in each pixel, and the static capacitor 13 is arranged between a gate electrode and a drain electrode of the driver element 12 when the light emitting element 14 emits light. While the light emitting element 14 is OFF, the threshold voltage between the gate and the drain electrodes is detected by supplying the same voltage to a gate and a source of the driver element, and stored in the static capacitor 13. Then, when detecting the threshold voltage, a signal voltage of a direction for turning the driver element 12 off, from a potential applied to the gate electrode of the driver element 12, and thereby, the signal voltage is superimposed to the threshold voltage without losing the threshold voltage of the driver element 12 which is held in the static capacitor 13 when writing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
