PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable multilayer ceramic electronic component exhibiting excellent IR lifetime in which dielectric loss is suppressed over a wide temperature range (e.g. a range of -55°C to 155°C) while sustaining various electric characteristics such as permittivity, temperature characteristics of a capacity, and the like. SOLUTION: The multilayer ceramic electronic component comprises an element body 10 formed by laying a dielectric layer 2 and an inner electrode layer 3 alternately. When the element body 10 is cut along the layer direction, a segregation phase 20 containing an oxide of Mn is formed at least in a disconnected part 30 of an electrode layer observed in the inner electrode layer 3.
