PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidifier having a stable amount of humidification by using a holder for holding a water absorbing filter at its inside or outside, whichever, depending on the construction of the humidifier to keep contact pressure always uniform between the water absorbing filter and an evaporation tray or an evaporation cylinder. SOLUTION: The humidifier comprises a body 1, the evaporation tray 2 joined to the body 1 for storing water 10 at the lower side, a water supply passage 4 for supplying water to the evaporation tray 2, a heater 5 for heating the outer wall of the evaporation tray 2, the holder 7 formed by alternately turning around a wire rod into a U-shape with the end points joined together, and the water absorbing filter 6 put in uniform pressure contact with the inner wall of the evaporation tray 2 by the inscribed holder 7 for absorbing the water from the evaporation tray 2 with a capillary phenomenon.
