PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing method of a blanket for efficiently removing the ink residue of the ink component on the surface of the blanket exerting a bad influence upon printing quality in a printing employing the blanket and the washing device of the blanket employing the method under the condition that the ink residue is easily removed without its re-adhesion to a printed matter, resulting in giving no bad influence upon printing quality. SOLUTION: In the washing method for removing the ink component left on the blanket, for washing, an ink dissolving agent is supplied to the ink residue on the blanket, through its suitable amount of impregnation in the residue and the resultant partial or whole dissolution of the residue so as to recover the transferring properties to a transferring object of the surface of the ink residue in order to transfer the ink residue to the transferring object, resulting in removing the ink component left on the blanket.
