PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass-polyamide composite that is excellent in hardness and linear coefficient of expansion, and its preparation, in which polyamide formation and preparation of a polyamide composite with glass can be carried out simultaneously at room temperature at a low cost without using a heat melting device, and in which inexpensive water glass is directly used and fine glass forms a uniform composite. SOLUTION: The glass-polyamide composite is obtained by bringing (A) an aqueous solution containing water, water glass, and a diamine monomer into contact with (B) an organic solution containing an organic solvent and an acylated dicarboxylic acid monomer, and by conducting a polycondensation reaction of the monomer at the interface of both solution phases. Glass is dispersed in the composite uniformly and the particle size of the glass is 300 nm or less. An ash of 40 percent by weight or more is left when the composite is burned in the air at the temperature of 600°C or higher and polyamide components are removed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
