PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional gatepost having a configuration capable of easily responding to user's requests and of achieving economization without preparing various kinds of gateposts. SOLUTION: The functional gatepost comprises right and left vertical plates 1, a plurality of partition plates 2 for connecting the right and left vertical plates 1 together, a plain front plate 5 and rear plates 10 to 12 respectively installed to the front face and rear face of the right and left vertical plates 1, and a lid to be attached to the top of the vertical plates 1, the plain front plate 5 and the rear plates 10 to 12. In this way, a plurality of spaces capable of housing functional parts in the gatepost can be partitioned therein by using the partition plates 2. The front plates 5 to 7 and the rear plates 10 to 12 are separated into a plurality of plates corresponding to the plurality of spaces provided. The vertical plates 1, front plates 5 to 7 and the rear plates 10 to 12 can be respectively selected out of a plurality of various plates having different appearances and materials. At least one of the functional parts is able to have a configuration which permits the installation to at least one of the vertical plates 1, partition plates 2, front plates 5 to 7, and rear plates 10 to 12 as selected in advance.
