A network information analyzing method for analyzing the state of a network having a plurality of transmission devices combined. In this analyzing method, a line identifier is assigned to each logical circuit for data communications between a transmission terminal and a reception terminal. Circuit management code information containing the circuit identifier is transmitted from a management device to the transmission device. In response to the circuit management code information from the management device, the transmission device transmits the circuit management code information to the logical circuit corresponding to the circuit identifier contained in the circuit management code information. Each transmission device extracts the circuit management code information, and transmits at least its own device identifier and the circuit identifier to the management device. On the basis of the device identifier and the circuit identifier received from each transmission device, the management device analyzes the network state. Thus, it is possible to make the network analysis such as the communication route retrieval of the signal to pass through the network, the discrimination of the quantity of the passed signal of the transmission device or the specification of a network trouble position simply and quickly.
