PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a braking force at the time of parking while restraining hindrance of passage of other vehicles or passengers in a turning device independently turning right and left wheels. SOLUTION: In this turning device 200, a wheel turning mechanism 150 independently turns right and left wheels. A shift sensor 24 senses that a vehicle 10 is under a parking condition. The wheel turning mechanism 150 turns one of right and left wheels 58 in a manner that a turning angle becomes large, and turns the other wheel 58 in a manner that the turning angle becomes small, when the vehicle 10 is sensed to be under a parking condition.
