<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of more easily obtaining brightness of display, without accompanying other structural alterations, such as boring opening portions in a color filter. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is equipped with a transparent substrate where a reflecting film reflecting incident light is formed, a facing transparent substrate provided facing the transparent substrate, and liquid crystal provided between the transparent substrate and facing substrate, and is provided with a 2nd reflecting film on an outer peripheral end surface of the facing transparent substrate. Furthermore, a color filter layer is provided in between the reflecting film and opposite transparent substrate, and a reflecting film is provided at the outer peripheral end surface of the color filter layer as well. The reflecting film is formed of a translucent reflecting film transmitting a part of the incident light, backlight is arranged outside the transparent substrate, and a reflecting film is provided at the outer peripheral end surface of the transparent substrate and reflecting film, as well. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
