PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bioartificial organ which can remove nucleic acid and/or viruses that may leak out to the body fluid of an individual from cells filled in the bioartificial organ at the time of use, indicates a high cell survival rate and maintains the function of the cells at a high level at the time of use as the bioartificial organ, and sufficiently and efficiently demonstrates the function of the cells and sufficiently demonstrates the function as the bioartificial organ in the use of medical treatment or the like. SOLUTION: A bioartificial organ system comprises a module for the bioartificial organ which may be filled with animal cells, an adsorbent material for adsorbing the nucleic acid and/or the viruses originating in the animal cells, and the animal cells, and is composed by filling the animal cells inside the module for the bioartificial organ and installing the adsorbent material inside and/or outside the module for the bioartificial organ.
