<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a packaged carbonated beverage by which beverage liquid is prevented from splashing out of a container when charging the carbonated beverage in the container, and the container is prevented from swelling when heating the content beverage liquid for sterilization after the beverage liquid is filled. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a packaged carbonated beverage comprises charging a carbonated beverage where beverage raw material is mixed at a prescribed ratio and the carbon dioxide is pressed in the container; wherein a defoaming agent is put into the container where the carbonated liquid is not charged yet, and then the carbonated beverage is put into the container or the defoaming agent is put into the container where the carbonated beverage liquid is already charged.
