PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately perform a switching between uplink and downlink channels in a signal transmission system which is provided with a transmission/reception shared antenna and is operated in a TDD (Time Division Duplex). SOLUTION: The wireless base station of the wireless communication system operated in the TDD uses the signal transmission system provided with the transmission/reception shared antenna and connected to the wireless base station via a transmission cable. The signal transmission system is characterized by including: a detection means for detecting a synchronous pattern included in a downlink signal received from the wireless base station via the transmission cable; and a means for determining a transmission/reception switching timing of the signal transmitted through the transmission/reception shared antenna on the basis of a result of the detection.
