PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ruler of high practical value, free from the imposition of any particular restrictions on the selection of combined kinds of displayed scale patterns, also free from problems such as thickening, failure, and battery exhaustion since a complicated movable mechanism or an electric control mechanism is dispensed with, and being in little risk of a measurement error or a reading mistake accident on scale numerals, as to a ruler for displaying a plurality of kinds of scale patterns on the same scale display part. SOLUTION: This ruler includes a lenticular lens 1 on the scale display part of a ruler body; and an accumulated/reduced pattern 2 obtained by accumulating reduced patterns a1, b1, c1, a2, b2, c2, ... , obtained by decomposing the plurality of kinds of scale patterns into thin-line forms and reducing them widthwise, the scale patterns disposed on the back side of the lens 1 in a positionally adjusted manner. For the plurality of kinds of scale patterns, a combination of scale patterns is used, with the scale patterns different from each other in at least any of spaces between scale marks, numeric values of scale figures, and arrangement of scale numerals.
