PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher capable of early starting a countermeasure against the abnormal level of washing water. SOLUTION: The dishwasher 10 comprises a washing tub 14, a water feeding means 41, a washing means 27, a draining means 27, a water level detecting means 45, and a controller 20. The following control procedures are executed one after another by the controller 20; (1) A first control procedure for lowering the water level to lower than a prescribed height by stopping the washing means 27 and operating the draining means 27 when the water level at a prescribed height or higher is detected by the water level detecting means 45 while the washing means 27 is operated; (2) a second control procedure for stopping the draining means 27 and operating the washing means 27; and (3) a third procedure for continuing the operation of the washing means 27 when the level lower than the prescribed height is detected by the water level detecting means 45 and for stopping the washing means 27, operating the draining means 27 and announcing information related to the abnormal water feeding when the water level at the prescribed height or higher is detected by the water level detecting means 45.
