<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine smoothly changing a fuel injection control mode along with increase/decrease in engine load, and suppressing torque fluctuation along with excessive switching in control mode caused by a little load change and switching in control mode. <P>SOLUTION: In shifting from a low temperature combustion control for performing low temperature combustion to a normal combustion control performing normal combustion, when an oxygen amount mo2 in a cylinder reaches a first A* map switch threshold value Oxy1, an A* map used for calculating an air adjusting parameter A* for adjusting an intake air amount is switched from a map for the low temperature combustion control to a map for normal combustion control. Then, while keeping engine output torque approximately constant, the oxygen amount mo2 is increased. When the oxygen amount reaches a first Q* map switch threshold valve Oxy3, a Q* map used for calculating a fuel injection parameter Q* performing a control of fuel injection is switched from the map for the low temperature combustion control to the map for normal combustion control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
