<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of saving electric power consumption, a driving method thereof, and a driving apparatus for the display device. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to the display device, the driving method thereof, and the driving apparatus for the display device. The driving apparatus includes an amplifying unit amplifying a photo sensing signal from a photo sensing unit and a touch sensing signal from a touch sensing unit, a parallel-to-serial converting unit converting the amplified photo sensing signal and the amplified touch sensing signal from the amplifying unit into a serial sensing signal, and an analog-to-digital converting unit converting the serial sensing signal into the digital sensing signal, wherein the amplifying unit, the parallel-to-serial converting unit and the analog-to-digital converting unit operate in one of a normal mode and a power saving mode by the touch sensing signa. These units are operated by the power saving mode in the absence of the touch, and a power source is not supplied to a portion of a signal reading unit, due to which the electric power consumption can be reduced and since the units operate in synchronization with a clock signal having a low frequency, the electric power consumption can be further reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
