PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit, a method, and a computer program for image filtering, effective in noise reduction in an image. SOLUTION: A first pixel set PA1 including a pixel P33 of interest, a second pixel set PA2 including the first pixel set PA1, and a third pixel set PA3 including the second pixel set PA2 are defined. A first reference pixel value BV1 is obtained from the first pixel set PA1, and a second reference pixel value BV2 is obtained from the third pixel set PA3. The second pixel set PA2 is divided based on the second reference pixel value BV2 as a criterion, and a set on the side in which the pixel P33 of interest is included becomes a candidate set. In the candidate set, a pixel approximating the first reference pixel value BV1 becomes a pixel for correction, and the pixel of the pixel P33 of interest is replaced by the pixel for correction.
