PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a toner having a controlled attached state of an external additive to toner particles and controlled fluidity, not causing failure such as surface stain, and having stable charging characteristics. SOLUTION: The toner for image formation has the external additive on the toner particles including at least a binder resin and a colorant. The external additive is attached to surfaces of the toner particles, heat treatment is carried out in a temperature range of 1/2Tg≤T≤Tg (where T is≥25°C and Tg is a glass transition temperature of the toner), and the heat treatment is carried out in a toner stationary state. An attachment rate of the external additive on the toner surface is≥80% and a loosening apparent density is 0.38-0.43. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
