PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless LAN system in which security setting can be performed in safety through a simple operation and mutual availability can be enhanced including products of other companies. SOLUTION: In the wireless LAN system comprising a wireless access point and a wireless terminal, the wireless access point and the wireless terminal comprise a means for performing regular wireless LAN communication with a correspondent node; a short distance communication means, i. e, a wireless communication means different from above-mentioned wireless LAN communication means, and having a communication distance shorter than that of the wireless LAN communication means; and a means for setting security by performing communication with the correspondent node through use of the short distance communication means.
