PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for pickling a titanium or titanium-alloy sheet by which the uniformity of the glossiness of a titanium sheet can be secured without inhibiting efficiency and manufacturing costs in a titanium strip manufacturing process and also the problem of nondissolution at pickling can be solved. SOLUTION: When pickling the titanium or titanium-alloy sheet to remove scale and an oxygen-enriched layer from the surface of the titanium or titanium-alloy sheet, the titanium or titanium-alloy sheet is pickled by means of an aqueous solution of nitric-hydrofluoric acid containing 10 to 10,000 ppm of either or both of silicon and copper. By this method, the uniformity of the glossiness of the titanium sheet can be secured and nondissolution at pickling can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
