A paper mill has first (1) with a flexible mantle and second drums (2) separated by an elongated gap (3). The outer ends of the first drum and mantle are closed and sealed off by discs (6, 7) clamped by rings to the drum axle. The clamped rings are radial removable flange rings with countersunk machine screw holes. The radial ring exerts pressure on a cover plate and seal. The seal is located in a radial ring groove under the cover plate. The cover plate has a convex profile that extends into the circular groove.
