PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric surgical device for cutting off and carving body tissue. SOLUTION: This device, which is designed to cut off and carve the body tissues such as cartilage during surgical treatment, includes an elongate shaft 12 and a rotatable tissue-operative tip part 18 provided at the tip part thereof. A plurality of cut-off grooves 24 are formed on the outer surface of the tissue-operative tip part. A cavity 20 runs through both the shaft and the tip part, extends to an opening 22 formed at the apex of the tissue-operative tip part.
