Device encompasses bearing block (14) in which the bearing journal (10) is rotatably situated, a propeller shaft (16) with one joint head (28) on side of journal and a second on side of drive mechanism. It has a fixed coupling (18) connecting the journal-side head to the bearing journal and a support (20) for this head when the coupling is unfastened. When the coupling is opened, the joint head rests on the support, such that the coupling can be closed in this position and that by closing the coupling, the joint-side head aligns itself in extension of the journal again and a functional play is created with the fixed support.
