PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of improving the uniformity and provide a manufacturing method for pneumatic tires. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire 1 is equipped with a carcass ply 10 leading from the tread part 2 to a bead part 4 via each side wall part 3 and covering the cords arranged radially with topping rubber and a belt layer 7 installed inside the tread part and outside in the radial direction of the carcass. The carcass ply 10 consists of a continuous ply part 11 provided round the tread part as orbiting in the tire circumferential direction and with its beginning and ending terminations about the tire circumferential direction spliced in overlapping and strip-form ply parts 12 provided on both sides thereof. Each strip-form ply part 12 is folded while adjoining strips 12a are overlapped one over the other inward in the radial direction in such a way as to suit the shape of the side wall part 3 where the strip 12a formed by tearing the topping rubber by a slit 13 between the carcass cords is installed continuously in the circumferential direction from each side edge 10E of the carcass ply to the continuous ply part 11 so as to form a side part 6S.
