<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing an isotope in a light water power reactor. <P>SOLUTION: The method of producing an isotope in a light water power reactor can produce one or more isotopes, by irradiating one or more targets (320) in the reactor under neutron flux. The targets can be assembled on one or more fuel bundles (10) to be charged in the core of the reactor, when the reactor is stopped. Irradiation of the fuel bundles is executed by power generation operation of the reactor to produce a desired isotope, such as one or more radioisotopes that have desired specific activity or stable isotopes of the desired concentration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
