PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument panel reinforcement which is less in the number of components and easily pressed. SOLUTION: A cross beam 2 is formed cylindrical, and a cross beam 4 on a driver's seat side and a cross beam 6 on a front passenger seat side are connected to each other. The cross beam 4 on the driver's seat side and the cross beam 6 on the front passenger seat side are formed by superposing upper members 8, 14 and lower members 10, 16 which are vertically split along the axial direction, respectively, and lower members 10, 16, and pressed, respectively. The upper members 8, 14 are formed in a U-shaped section, and the lower members 10, 16 are mounted while closing openings of U-shaped section. Mounting brackets 16a, 16b are integrally pressed with the lower member 16 of the cross beam 6 on the front passenger seat side. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
