PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control picture viewing functions according to the surrounding environment to always make a portable terminal functioning as a multimedia information terminal without stopping all functions. SOLUTION: A present position detector 102 detects the present position of a portable terminal 101. A map data recorder 103 records map data comprising information of picture viewing restrained places. A control method determiner 104 determines the control method of viewing functions, based on the detected position information and picture viewing restrained place information. A picture output unit 105 outputs a received picture. A first sound output unit 107 outputs received sounds. A second sound output unit 108 outputs received sounds.
