Folding device has bag folding unit with adjustable bag stopper (7). An adjuster (16) is provided for orientation of bag stopper. A sensor (17) generates signals characterizing the process of impinging of edges of work piece on stopper bag. Controller (21) controls adjuster in interpretation of signals in such that the edge arrives to a momentary stop within a time lag according to desired value.
