PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain accurate detection by excluding any erroneous detection even when a touch sensor reacts several times, and to attain accurate detection by excluding any erroneous detection due to any erroneous contact. SOLUTION: This numerical controller 1 includes a tool blade end detecting part 2 for detecting the blade end position of a tool mounted on a blade stand and a detection signal deciding part 3 for deciding that only a detection signal to be input at first among a plurality of detection signals to be continuously input from the tool blade end detecting means is valid. The first signal of the moment the tool has been brought into contact with a touch sensor is accepted, and any signal to be detected until the tool moves in a set distance or more is made invalid as erroneous detection before the lapse of a set time. Thus, even when a plurality of signals are continuously input from the touch sensor, only the first signal of the moment the tool has been brought into contact with the touch sensor is made valid and accepted, and even when the touch sensor reacts several times, accurate detection can be attained by excluding any erroneous detection.
