PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deformation and breakage of a latch member by dispersing shearing force to the latch member over a wide range even if a force in the direction of causing one pipe member to go out of an opening of the other pipe member is generated. SOLUTION: In this pipe connecting structure, a pair of engaging flat surfaces 31a, 31b opposite to each other in the axial direction of the pipe are formed in a part of the latch member 3 inserted in a window hole 22, the whole outer areas of the engaging flat surfaces 31a, 31b are positioned in the window hole 22, the whole inner areas of the engaging flat surfaces 31a, 31b are positioned in an engagement groove 12, thereby stretching the latch member 3 between the window hole 22 and the engagement groove 12 extending over the whole areas of the engaging flat surfaces 31a, 31b. When the force in the direction of causing one pipe member to go out of an opening of the other pipe member is generated, shearing force is applied to the engaging flat surfaces 31a, 31b of the latch member 3.
