FIELD: metallurgy. ^ SUBSTANCE: the electric arc furnace for steel melting has a melting furnace restricted by a bottom and a bay window with an outlet port and side walls of the furnace, one working window, electrodes, blowing devices installed above the level of the melt in the side walls at an angle of 30 to 80 deg. to the direction of melt flow in the bath at an angle of 10 to 30 deg. to the horizontal and connected to the pipe-lines supplying the slag-forming materials, carbon and oxidizers. The quantity of the blowing devices is determined depending on the furnace charge according to a definite dependence. ^ EFFECT: reduced consumption of electric power, reduced duration of melting. ^ 1 dwg |
