System and method of playing a card game

An electronic system for playing a modified poker game for at least one player where the modified poker game has rules of play comprises a computer configured to receive a wager placed by a player and then display the playing faces of at least five cards to the player on a display device. The computer is also configured to replace cards selected by the player to be replaced from the player's at least five cards at the player's option; and evaluating the entire at least five cards as a single hand and evaluating a sub-combination hand of fewer cards than the at least five cards displayed to the player in accordance with the rules of play stored on a storage device associated with the computer. The sub-combination hand is selected from and co-existing as a subset of the at least five cards.
