PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display apparatus capable of minimizing power consumption while performing satisfactory picture display. SOLUTION: The display apparatus comprises a first display section 10 which performs light emitting display by controlling the light emitting quantity of each pixel, and a second display section 20 wherein a transmission state of transmitting outside light and a reflection state of reflecting outside light can be set on each pixel and which performs display in combination of a transmissive area and a reflective area. The second display section 20 is laminated on the first display section 10 so as to allow visual recognition of the first display section 10 through the transmissive area of the second display section 20. Then, by making a part or the whole of the second display section 20 a transmissive area, the display on the first display section 10 can be visually recognized through the transmissive area of the second display section 20. Also, by making the first display section 10 power off state (black color), the transmissive area of the second display section 20 is displayed in black (the reflective area is displayed in yellow).
