PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus advantageous to miniaturization while securing the degree of freedom in a design or a plan. SOLUTION: A case 2004 for a light emitting part is formed so that the front end of a light source housing chamber 2006 may be located more backward than the front end of a lens barrel 10 and the front end of the light source housing chamber 2006 may be located at nearly the same position as a front wall 102A in a front-and-rear direction as shown in Figure (A) in a state where the case 2004 for the light emitting part is located at a non-use position. The case 2004 is formed so that the front end of the light source housing chamber 2006 may be located at nearly the same position as the front end of the lens barrel 10 and the front end of the light source housing chamber 2006 may be located more forward than the front wall 102A in the front-and-rear direction as shown in Figure (B) in a state where the case 2004 is located at a use position.
