PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyethylene resin composition which can give a film being excellent in low-temperature sealability and impact strength and having transparency and gas barrier properties and to provide a film containing the composition. SOLUTION: The polyethylene resin composition comprises an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer (A), an ethylene copolymer (B) which is a multicomponent polymer prepared by copolymerizing ethylene with at least one radically polymerizable acid anhydride and containing 0.1 to 20 wt.% units derived from the radically polymerizable acid anhydride, and an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer (C) containing 10 to 70 mol% units derived from ethylene, wherein the ethylene/α-olefin copolymer (A) is specified in (a) density, (b) melt flow rate, (c) molecular weight distribution (M<SB>w</SB>/M<SB>n</SB>), and so on.
