<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective jacket configured to enable only a protective plate to be easily taken out even while the wearer is wearing a shirt or the like, thus ensuring excellent wearability and air permeability. <P>SOLUTION: The protective jacket includes a jacket body 3 formed in a flat bag shape consisting of an outer material 1 and a lining 2; a protective plate 2 positioned inside the jacket body 3; and an elongate slot 5 provided on the outer material 1 side of the jacket body 3 for taking the protective plate 4 in and out.
