摘要 1,246,917. Sintered porous Co electrodes. E. W. JUSTI, A. W. KALBERLAH, and H. H SCHILLING. 14 Oct., 1969 [15 Oct., 1968], No. 50475/69. Heading H1B. [Also in Division C7] Sintered porous Co electrodes for alkaline accumulators are made by hot pressing a powder mixture of Co and a pore former such as KCl, Na 2 SO 4 , Na 2 CO 3 , and organic compounds and then removing the pore former, e.g. by dissolving in water, acid or alkali, chemical treating or by heating. The Co powder has a maximum particle size of 100 microns, preferably less than 35 microns and the pore former 50-200 microns. Weight ratio of Co : pore former is 2 : 1 to 6 : 1 and hot pressing is effected at 300-500‹ C. at 0À5-5 metric tons/cm.<SP>2</SP> for 3-10 sees. In a continuous process the powder may be hot rolled to form strip. The hot-pressed Co is then discharged in an alkaline electrolyte, e.g. 4n-6n KOH with oxygen liberation for 12 hours using a current density of 50 ma./cm.<SP>2</SP>.
