PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information retrieval device and method for executing proper information retrieval. SOLUTION: This information retrieving device 100 is configured to retrieve a piece of registration information corresponding to a keyword from among the pieces of registration information, and provided with a registration information converting part 110 for converting the registration information according to a conversion algorithm 112 for registration information, a contents DB120 for storing the registration information converted by the registration information converting part 110, a keyword converting part 140 for converting the keyword according to a conversion algorithm 142 for a keyword and a retrieving part 150 for extracting the converted registration information corresponding to the keyword converted by the keyword converting part 140 from the contents DB120.
