PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a building base material 1 using a fiberboard 20 hard to cause the dimensional change or warpage due to thickness and moisture absorption and capable of being reduced in cost by reducing material loss. SOLUTION: Woody fibers 5 and a resin adhesive 10 are mixed to be charged in a mold 35 and compressed under heating to form a flat plate-shaped fiber substrate 15 and after the fiber substrate 15 is cut into a predetermined thickness to form the fiberboard 20, and the fiberboard 20 and plywood 30 are bonded to manufacture the building base material 1. A thermosetting resin solution 25 is applied to the whole region of the cut surface 23 of the fiberboard 20 and the coated fiberboard 20 is held for a predetermined time in order to penetrate the thermosetting resin solution 25 into the fiberboard 20. Thereafter, the cut surface 23 coated with the thermosetting resin solution 25 is used as a mating surface to heat the fiberboard 20 and the plywood 30 in a superposed state not only to bond the fiberboard 20 and the plywood 30 but also to cure the thermosetting resin solution 25 penetrated into the fiberboard 20.
