PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera for realizing tracking AF with higher accuracy and to provide a tracking apparatus and a tracking method applied to the camera. SOLUTION: In the camera including imaging means (11, 12, 13) for photographing an object image and a tracking means 53 for tracking a position of an object moving in a photographed image, the tracking means includes a setting means for setting a tracking detection region comprising a detection region to detect a feature point of the object and a monitor region arranged in the vicinity of the detection region and for detecting the movement of the object into the photographed image, and the setting means arranges the monitor region biased toward a predicted moving direction of the object when the moving direction of the object can be predicted.
