<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide composite particles which highly inhibit the surface activity of zinc oxide and has both high transparency and an ultraviolet light shielding property, to provide a method for producing the same, and to prepare a cosmetic containing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The composite particles comprise a polyolefin-based resin having a crystallinity of≤80% and zinc oxide and are obtained by a melt dispersion method or melt spray cooling method. Or the composite particles comprise a polyolefin-based resin having a crystallinity of≤80% and zinc oxide and have a left zinc oxide rate of≥50 wt.% in the particles, after immersed in a 25°C 0.5 mol/L hydrochloric acid solution (solution composition comprises water and ethanol in an equal volume ratio).
