1,184,522. Bolting. E. W. BLISS CO. 24 June, 1968 [26 June, 1967], No. 30091/68. Heading F2H. A support assembly comprises a vertical pole 10 having at least one longitudinal groove 20 in its outer surface to receive the head 34 of a bolt 16 so that the shank of the bolt extends radially from the pole, the bolt head being so shaped that in one orientation it can be inserted into the groove before being rotated to a second orientation relative to the pole to effect locking engagement of the head with the side walls of the groove. As shown, the bolt head 34 is of oval cross-section and may be provided with peripheral serrations (36) (Fig. 6, not shown) and the shank 30 which is threaded at its free end may have a wrench engaging portion defined by flats (38). The bolt may be of steel and the pole may be of aluminium and more than one bolt may be employed to rigidly secure a sign or lamp bracket 12 to the pole 10. |
