The card blank (1) may be a continuous strip of plastics. It is placed between guides (2) and holder strips (3) and is cut by opposed knife blades (4,5) which separate several cards from one large blank. Pressure stamps (6) have side surfaces (7) with a small clearance from the knife blades and help to separate the cards from the blank. The system includes lifting cylinders (8).
