<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of reproducing sound wherein left and right channel sound waves are well-balanced with a properly broad listening region, by outputting the left and right channel sound waves in a state of parallel plane waves from speakers. <P>SOLUTION: A reproducing apparatus disclosed herein includes processing circuits WF1 to WF12 for processing audio signals of the left channel supplied to the speakers SP1 to SP12 so that sound waves outputted from the speakers SP1 to SP12 are wave-front composed to form a virtual sound source of the left channel; processing circuits WF13 to WF24 for processing audio signals of the right channel supplied to the speakers SP13 to SP24 so that sound waves outputted from the speakers SP13 to SP24 are wave-front-composed to form a virtual sound source of the right channel; and a setting circuit 21, that sets the position of the virtual sound sources of the left and right channels to an infinitely separated location and sets the traveling directions of the sound waves of the left and right channels obtained form the virtual sound sources of the left and right channels, in such a way that the traveling directions of the sound waves of the left and right channels are made to cross each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
